I've recently set up a new WSUS server as the old one was giving a lot of trouble. The new one is on Server 2016, and updates Serevr 2012 and 2012 R2 servers, plus W10 clients. So far I've only got it doing the servers - the clients are still on the old
one as I haven't changed the GPO for them yet.
It is consistently giving incorrect reports on the update status of all 2012 R2 VMs, plus the physical Hyper-V host running Hyper-V Server 2016. It reports all of these as needing small numbers of updates, but if I log into any of them and check they report that they are up to date.
It is reporting (corectly) that all Server 2016 VMs are up to date.
Also, I can't view a report on any machine to see which updates are affected as if I double-click the name of the machine the report viewer opens and I get the 'generating report' message, but that message just stays there until it times out.
Any ideas?
Thanks
David
