Just got a bunch of "Internet Explorer 10 Spell check dictionary (*Language*) (KB2764916) synced into my WSUS. One for each of 19 languages.
Two interesting things about these:
1. Internet Explorer 10 only (so far) exists on Windows 8 and Server 2012.
2. All these packs are listed as "needed" for all of my machines running Win7 or Server 2008R2 but not applicable to the Win8 and Server 2012 machines, the only ones that have IE10. Of course if I approve one, none of the machines that "need" it can install it.
I would have thought that such an update would only be applicable if the affected product were installed, in this case IE10. Yet here it is listed as needed for machines for which IE10 is not available.
Result: I'm declining this batch of updates.
