Expired security patch still shows as required in windows update. (MS12-009)

Expired patch still showing as needed in windows update & MBSA,even though the superseded patch is installed on the computer. MS12-017 is superseded patch of MS12-009,even though MS12-017 is installed on the computer still it is requesting for MS12-009. Operating system: 2003 server.
