Can we allow computers from another company (or organization) to communicate and receive updates from our WSUS server if we know they own the computers that connect to our WSUS server?
We support a government facility and have been tasked to provide updates to end users of the government system we support. Those end users are comprised of other state and local governments. The goal is to provide them access to Microsoft patches so their computers can stay current. We need to insure a minimal patch level for folks accessing our system.
There is a note in the WSUS Deployment Guide that says:
"Do not use WSUS to distribute updates to client computers that are not licensed for your organization. The WSUS license agreement specifically disallows this."
We haven't seen this text anywhere. Does anyone know where we can find the actual text of this agreement?
