I have around 300 workstations that need to either be shutdown or restarted (most need the service pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 KB2687455)
I don't really understand why this didn't happen. I just tested with a workstation that had "Shut Down" message on the Windows 7 start menu. I tested with a remote restart batch file and it successfully rebooted but the service pack was still already downloaded but did not install?
What should I be looking for here? I am really at a loss on how to handle this. I don't really want to send an email out to end users asking them to manually click "Install" button and then manually restart or shutdown.
SETTINGS:
GPO: Configure Automatic Updates: Auto download and schedule the install (Every Tuesday 23:00)
Specify intranet MS update service location (our WSUS server)
[This I enabled AFTER KB2687455 was downloaded by all workstations] Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation ENABLED
Thanks in advance.
Thank You, Joe
