I'm setting up a single server WSUS environment on Server 2012.
The install goes okay, except that I get an error saying that I need to reboot, and I need to give the WID account 'log on as a service' rights.
I even get all the updates synchronised with Windows Update. The world is rosy; everything appears good.
However, when I reboot, WSUS just disappears! It just goes away. WID also goes. So does IIS.
.NET 4.5, PowerShell and a few others remain.
Can someone explain why? I've tried lots of different combinations, but the same every time. I've wasted 2 whole days on this, and don't seem any closer.
- I don't even have anti-virus on yet. Windows 2012 Datacenter.
- I don't have anything else installed, not even System Center.
