Hi,
I have recently taken over administering our WSUS environment and I'm relatively new to WSUS. We currently have one upstream (primary) server and one down stream server (replica).
The problem is a group was deleted on the upstream server but has not been removed from the down stream server? It's not possible to delete the group on the down stream server so how do I remove it? I would have assumed if a group is deleted on the upstream server this would be replicated on the down stream server?
I found a thread on this forum where someone has a similar issue on their upstream/primary server. They provide a fix that looks like it would work, but I can't create groups on our down stream server (I believe this how WSUS should work). Would re-creating the group on the upstream server then following the actions in the thread below work?
Actions in thread...
"OK....I figured it out....at least this is what worked for me....
1. Create a new update view and choose "updates are approved for a specific group"
2. Choose "Approved" and status = any
3. Highlight all of your updates (right click) and select approve
4. In the approved updates window, hightlight your group (right click) and select "not approved" then "ok"
5. You should now be able to delete the target group. "

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
