Client reporting to WSUS has broken after latest WSUS server patch; may or may not also affect updating
Error seen on all clients subsequently in windowsupdate.log -
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "SUSDB" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'.
Issue appears to have started immediately following patching of WSUS server with these 7 updates only (October 2012) -

KB2720211 had already been applied in June 2012.
However, reapplied KB2720211 (from KB page download), and clients immediately started reporting in again.
