I have wsus 3.2.7600.226 sitting on win 2008 with around 1200 clients, around 10 of win2008, 100 win 2003 servers, rest are windows XP. I am using GPO to push hotfixes/windows updates, my GPO setting looks like this...chose Windows component then windows update and enabled all these options "configure automatic updates" "specify intranet microsoft service location" . wsus useto push hotfixes all together but now it pushes just some at once and then i have to reschedule remaining hotfix again and it takes me 3/4 attempts to finish them all. In the wsus console under computers if I click any pc then tiny hotfix status screen pops up saying "30 updates have not been installed", 3 updates have been download but not installed "120 updates have been installed etc...It never installed them together. Even some times it download patches but never install it and i have to install it manually on client through yellow icon at system tray and then have to run wuauclt.exe /detectnow comand to start the next batch of patches. Due to this windows update through Internet Explorer (IE) seems easier to me as it installs all together in one shot.
Is it possible to install all 30 updates together as long as they are approved? Any idea, what I have to do to make this happen ? Let me know if you have any futher quesitons regarding this issue ...Thanks
