I have a healthy installation of WSUS 3.0 SP2 running on Windows Server 2008 R2. We have now begun the process of setting up Server 2012 R2 computers but they are not showing up correctly in WSUS. What's strange is that I can download updates based on the Server 2012 R2 classification, but the Server 2012 R2 computers report in as running Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. I installed the hotfix (KB2734608) which is supposed to bump the version to .256. Also, even though the servers are reporting in as Windows 2000, it does show that Server 2012 updates apply to them. This doesn't make sense to me. Let me know what you guys thing and how I can get WSUS to the proper version. Thanks.
