I am running a WSUS replication server on Server Standard 2008 SP2 at one of our remote sites. It was set up to receive updates from our main WSUS server, which is running Server Standard 2003 R2 SP2. After KB2720211's epic fail, it stopped working. I have tried numerous fixes that have been posted on the forums with no luck. My last effort was to completely remove WSUS services and all of the files (databases, downloads, etc). After that, I attempted to reinstall everything but it still will not work. It goes through the installation successfully and then when it tries to connect to the main WSUS server, it just sits there. Looking at the services on server, the Update Services service is not starting. When I try to start that service, it will not start and fails with the message:
