I work at a School District and I have implemented a WSUS server to push down my Windows updates and I have pushed out Group policy settings to the workstations for the WSUS settings. I have it configured to "Auto Download and Schedule the install" and have varying scheduled days depending what building they are in. I have the setting "Reschedule Automatic updates scheduled installations" set to Disabled which means if it misses the scheduled installation because the computer was turned off it won't run again until the next scheduled installation. This setting, however, does not seem to be working as I have had teachers complain that their computers are rebooting during the day and when we check it out, they just installed the windows updates and rebooted. All of my scheduled installations are scheduled for 2 or 3 AM, none are scheduled during the school day. So if the install was missed it shouldn't be installing during the day. I also have another setting that isn't working, I have the "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations" set to Enabled. This means that after doing updates the computer should not restart, and just let the user know that they have to restart the computer to finish updates. When users are seeing their computer do updates during the day, although they shouldn't be, they do get a message once done that the computer will reboot after 15 minutes and they are given the option to delay. Well many are in the middle of teaching and not at their computer at this time and it reboots because they didn't see the message to delay. With the setting "no auto-restart" set to enabled shouldn't that not allow the computer to reboot at all?
I am new to WSUS so if there is anything that I am not understanding, let me know or if there are any solutions to this.
