Recently my wsus server has been disconnected from the internet. So I went to the option of setting up an export server, connected to the internet, download all updates and do the import to my existing server. The issue now is none of the updates will download
to the clients. So my question is, do i need to create a new import server with a fresh database or am I doing something wrong with the export/import. Can I do something with the current database to fix this?
Here are my steps for my new process.
installed new wsus connected to the internet.
Sync the server
verify that the options are the same on both servers. Verified that "download express files" was checked on both servers
Approve all updates, so they will download. and waited until I had all updates downloaded.
On the export server ran windows backup on wsus\wsuscontent
On the export server ran wsusutil.exe export updates.cab export.log
On the import server Deleted all the updates in the wsuscontent folder. ran the restore, to restore the wsuscontent data from the export server.
On the import server ran wsusutil.exe import updates.cab import.log
On my import server my computers check. I can approve the updates but they never show as downloaded to the client of to the import server
Verified that I had the same folder size and file count on both import and export servers (71GB) All updates.
Thanks for any help
