Greetings,
I've had some issues with a server recently where I needed to uninstall WSUS. That seemed to go fine but it appears that the Windows Internal Database is still there. I guess that would be fine except that the WID service won't start. The account the service is using is "NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID." I'm thinking that in the uninstall of WSUS, it removed the database files for WSUS, leaving the rest, so that this account no longer exists?
I'm also getting some events in the Application log saying
initerrlog: Could not open error log file 'C:\Windows\WID\Log\error.log'. Operating system error = 5(Access is denied.).
I've tried to run "msiexec /x {BDD79957-5801-4A2D-B09E-852E7FA64D01} callerid=ocsetup.exe"but it says that product isn't installed. This is the command I've found that is supposed to uninstall WID on a x64 machine.
My end goal is to reinstall WSUS and WID and start fresh. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Mike
