I have a Windows 7 computer that was working fine with WSUS for more than a year. Found out today someone unplugged the computer from the network for the last three months. Got it re-connected, found the computer in Unassigned Computers, added it to the appropriate group but its status will not change from not yet reported. I tried starting/stopping the service, wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow followed by wuauclt.exe /report with no luck (after one hour of waiting). I tried stopping the service, re-naming C:\Windows\SoftwareUpdate to C:\Windows\SoftwareUpdate_old, re-starting the service and trying the above commands again....still no luck. Lastly, I removed the device from the WSUS server altogether and re-trying all the above steps...still no luck. Strange thing is that the svchost has been at 25% during this whole process and yet I am not seeing any results. Anyway, here are the logs from what I have done (next post).
