Hi !
Recently I installed Service Pack 1 for windows server 2008 R2 and after that i lost RDP to it.
Investigated it and found a security update is the cause.
I connected using iLo and uninstalled it and all went ok
so here is what i want
is there anyway to uninstall a windows update from different clients using group policy or WSUS ?
I have a few hundred computer's in my WSUS console that are reporting "no status" on a specific update.
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602I have checked for updates several time on many of the computer's & tried wuauclt detectnow, reportnow, downloadnow
Nothing seems to correct this issue at this point.
has anyone else seen this issue and have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
The update was automatically approved as per my settings and should be installed.
Any help would be great
Dear Support Team,
I am unable to boot my system after updates since yesterday. It is struck at Blue screen of death after giving BAD_POOL_HEADER.
It is working fine in safe mode but in normal mode it is showing blue screen dump again and again.I used (F8) to boot boot it into last best known configuration it showsFailure configuring windows update reverting
changes.
Please help me in resolving the issue.

After i got WSUS update patch for Win10 clients and downloaded Upgrades, our windows 10 clients stops updating itself and producing the same error. (see below). I added the esd mimetype, uninstalled and reinstalled WSUS (all files deleted and redownloaded) but no luck. Google find NOTHING about that :(
2015. 12. 28 13:39:08.5659099 1132 4036 Agent WU client version 10.0.10240.16515Recently, when I run the WSUS Managment Console, it always pop-up the error:
“MMC cannot open the file C:\Program Files\Update Services\administrationsnapin\wsus.msc.
This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.”
I try to summary of solution from google. I hope it can help you.
Cause 1: wsus.msc file is corrupted or crashes in this path: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC
Casue 2: This can happen if you fail to complete all of the prerequisites for WSUS 3.0, especially installing MMC 3.0. Not installing MMC 3.0 is what caused our issue here.
Resolution 1: Remove the wsus.msc file, try to open WSUS Management Console again.
Resolution 2: Re-install the ‘Windows Server Update Services‘.
Resolution 3: Install the MMC 3.0, then try to open the WSUS Managment Console again.

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and would like to ask about patching for these 2 KBs - KB3123040 and KB3119884. I did a search but didn't find any related discussion on these 2 KBs, so I'm opening a new one hopefully to get some help.
We have a disconnected server environment so auto-updater is out of the question here. "rvkroots.exe" seems to be able to solve KB3046310, KB2982792, and KB3050995(similar vulnerabilities), but, as for KB3123040 and KB3119884, i don't seems to find any solution for these 2 yet.
Is there any other method to patch KB3123040 and KB3119884?
Thanks,
Keo
Upstream server stores updates locally and is using locally published updates.
Downstream everything opposite - updates not stored locally and without locally published updates.
Upstream server 2003 wsus 3.2.7600.256 Downstream server 2012 R2 wsus 6.3.9600.16384
All Clients shows in downstream and all not yet reported.
windowsupdate.log:
"WARNING: GetExtendedUpdateInfo failure, error = 0x8024400E, soap client error = 7, soap error code = 400, HTTP status code = 200"
softwareDistribution ReportingEvents.log
"Failure Software Synchronization Windows Update Client failed to detect with error 0x8024400e."
What is the best way to remove an update that has been approved in WSUS, but not yet installed on the client computers?
Yesterday I approved KB3114409, which causes problems for Outlook 2010 and was pulled by Microsoft. I missed the news.
This morning, it was waiting to be installed on 74 computers. They may have already downloaded it from the WSUS server.
Should I decline the update, or mark it for removal? Which one will prevent it from getting installed?
Thanks
Hi all

I generally don't cross-post, but the moderator for the SQL Upgrade forum recommended posting here.
I'm attempting to push Service Pack 3 for SQL Server 2012 to a couple of our testing database servers (running different versions of Windows, same version of SQL) via our internal WSUS server. Since we have 300+ SQL servers in our production environment, WSUS is our preferred method for deploying the service packs.
WSUS server: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
SQL Server 2012 #1: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.5613.0 (X64) May 4 2015 19:05:02 Copyright (c)
Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition: Core-based Licensing (64-bit) on
Windows NT 6.3 <x64>(Build 9600: )
SQL Server 2012 #2: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 - 11.0.5343.0 (X64) May 4 2015 19:11:32 Copyright (c)
Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition: Core-based Licensing (64-bit) on
Windows NT 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
I've created a computer group in WSUS with the servers as members, and approved update thehttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3072779 update. I've run wuauclt /resetauthorization, /reportnow etc., and WUA does not detect SP3 as being required, and in the WSUS console, the service pack shows as not applicable. Is there some prerequisite which I'm missing? Or is there some sort of problem with the detection logic?
Thanks for your help!
Hi All,
WSUS clients are not getting windows updates installed.
ReportingEvents.log:
101 80244019 AutomaticUpdates Failure Content Download Error: Download failed.
Thanks for all sort of help/suggestions.
I thought I read that Classification 'Updates' do NOT get installed from WSUS. They can be send out via SCCM.
Is this correct?
I have a configuration of Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 as the host box. From there I have a VMServer 2008 R2 that runs my AD, DNS and DHCP roles. I also have a Server 2012 R2 Standard that has WDS and WSUS (and IIS since WSUS needed it to install).
I have my update repositories (UpdateServicesPackages and WsusContent) on a network drive.
My client devices (one VM Windows 7 pro, two physical Windows 7 pro and one VM Windows 10 pro) can see the updates but are unable to download them. I have made sure my content folder has the repositories in it (over 34gb of data) and the server can see the clients.
Can someone help point me in the right direction of what I could be missing?
I know I am having difficulties understanding who gets what permissions where. I feel it is an IIS issue but I have spent a few good hours troubleshooting with no positive results.
Thanks in advance!
